Year 5 Science Incursion

Date
Tuesday, 10 June 2025
Time
8.30am – 12.30pm

Students will learn about the natural processes of weathering and erosion to gain an understanding of how human’s impact the landscape we inhabit. Students will investigate the ‘rock cycle’ and classify samples of sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks. They will also examine the weathering caused by physical actions such as sand blasting and ice expansion and observe the effects of chemical weathering. In addition, students will study wind and water erosion, deposition of sediments as well as water absorption by different types of soils.
