Our Year 2 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Cooks' Cottage in Melbourne鈥檚 CBD on a bright and beautiful autumn day earlier this week.
The children, brimming with curiosity, explored the charming 18th-century cottage, learning about Captain James Cook鈥檚 life and adventures. The experience was enriched with engaging activities, a tour of the Cottage and an interactive storytelling session.
Did you know that the cottage was originally located in Yorkshire, England, and then brought to Melbourne in 1934? Astonishingly, each brick was individually numbered, packed into barrels and then shipped to Australia.
This hands-on historical journey provided the students with a memorable and educational day outside the classroom.
